Vegetablian in Tokyo 8 - Tokyo Vegefood Festa 2014

Today we went to the Tokyo Vegefood Festa at Yoyogi Park. Since 2006 it takes place once a year in Tokyo sometime between September and November. There are many stalls that sell vegetarian/ vegan/ macrobiotic products, organic clothes, drinks, vegetables, fruits and more!
We went for indian food! While enjoying it we even got to see a J-Pop band performing on the small stage.
When you are in Tokyo while this festival takes place you should definately drop by!

Vegetablian in Tokyo 7 - Komaki shokudo Akihabara

We went to a "Shojinryori" restaurant in Akiharabra - Buddhist food not using any animal products and not using certain spices. You can either chose the small version with three different dishes and rice or the large one where you get a small portion of all the dishes they have. We took the large version and it was so yummy! It costs about 1500¥.
Definitely a recommendation!

Vegetablian Tokyo 6 - Genki Sushi in Shibuya

Genki Sushi in Shibuya is a very delicious and cheap restaurant! Most things only cost 108¥ and taste very good. The amount of choice for vegetarians is not huge, but it's still enough to be happy!
On the pictures you get an idea about what you can eat. Additionally to that there are also vegetarian omelette onigiris and french fries!

Vegetablian in Tokyo 4 - Kick Back Cafe in Sengawa

Kick Back Cafe is a really nice restaurant/cafe near the station Sengawa on Keio Line.
They offer different kinds of vegan main dishes, deserts and drinks.
We tried the normal vegan Ramen, the soy cream Ramen, Gyoza and the vegan croquettes. All was really amazing!!
Everything is homemade (even the drinks!) and the portions are big. So the prices, around 950¥ for main dishes and 500¥ for deserts and drinks, are very reasonable!

Not only the food, but also the atmosphere is really nice! The restaurant has a little stage, where the band of the owner and staff members regularly perform. :)

Vegetablian in Tokyo 3 - Udon at Marugame Seimen in Shimokitazawa

We ate "Tororo Shoyu Udon" (Udon with yam) and "Oroshi Shoyu Udon" (Udon with radish) at Marugameseimen in Shimokitazawa. Marugameseimen (丸亀製麺) is an Udon chain store, where you choose your Udon at the counter and can also buy some Tempura. The two Udon dishes we had are supposed to be eaten with soysauce - The soysauce is provided at the table and you need to put it on the noodles yourself. Unfortunately the soysauce contains Bonito-Stock, so we brought our own sauce. The shop is quite nice, because it is cheap and tastes good and there are Udon which come without soup (soup usually contains Bonito-stock...)!

Vegetablian in Tokyo 2 - Vegetarian Gyoza in Ikebukuro.

We had vegetarian Gyoza in Ikebukuro, at a place called "Senjou Teuchi Gyoza Senmonten" (線條手打餃子専門店did I get the reading right?). It says its a Taiwanese gyoza restaurant and there is a vegetarian menu and a menu to also suit buddhists (food without these certain spices that some buddhists may not eat).
We had a vegetarian menu with some vegetable starters and vegetarian gyoza. I forgot to take a picture of the whole food we got, but it was very good and quite cheap (750¥). Below are the pictures I took.
The gyoza here are pretty amazing!! The only warning I have is this: The shop is managed by one lady alone and sometimes it is just closed regardless of what google says. Therefore the best way is to go here when you are in Ikebukuro anyways!!

Vegetablian in Tokyo 1 - Nomin Cafe in Shimokitazawa

We went to Nomin Cafe in Shimokitazawa - a really nice neighbourhood. We ate very delicious curry, a vegetable and egg plate, beetroot soup, tofu pudding with kinako and black sugar syrup. The restaurant is not all vegetarian, but has vegetarian options.
Lunch curry set was 1.250Yen including soup and tea. Really tasty and fresh!
